What is Photo Therapy?

Photography as therapy uses photography as a creative and therapeutic tool. It helps to promote emotional well-being, self-expression, and personal growth. In essence, it involves taking or viewing photographs to explore feelings and process experiences. This also fosters mindfulness and self-awareness. Moreover, the practice can be structured, for instance, as Photo Therapy led by a trained professional. Alternatively, it can be informal, as a personal activity known as Therapeutic Photography.
